There is only one imperial city there is only one Vienna, said Johann Strauss "the king of waltz" a symbol of the "Viennese music". The "Royal Classic Gala", is a magnificent musical kaleidoscope of world-famous waltzes, polkas and marches of Austrian masters whose music enchanted the world.
The "Vienna Royal Orchestra" presents in the course of the Gala one for Vienna unique selection of "Viennese music", with pieces from Mozart, Strauss, Lanner, Lehar, Schrammel and Haydn, symbols of an era that filled hearts with emotions, warmness, romance and passion. Accompanied by Vienna opera singers and the Viennese dancers, the audience will be fascinated by this "most charming" music.
The Vienna Royal Orchestra performs in several wonderful concert halls, the Imperial Hall in "Akademisches Gymnasium" (Beethovenplatz 1) and the Festive Hall of the House of Industry. Check the pictures of these halls above.
Imperial Hall / Akademisches Gymnasium / Beethovenplatz 1
In 1886, "Akademisches Gymnasium" moved to its current adress in Beethovenplatz in the 1st district of Vienna. It was built by Friedrich von Schmidt, the architect who also designed the Vienna townhall, in his typical neo-gothic style. Imperial Hall is suitable for classical concerts.
The perfect acoustics of the hall is an important prerequisite for qulitative concerts.
Festive Hall in the House of Industry
Designed by architect Karl Koenig, the House of Industry was built between 1906 and 1909. Monumental in character but dominated by clear
linearity, the building is modelled on Roman-inspired 17th century Classicism. The House of Industry was inaugurated by Emperor Franz
Joseph on 25 March 1911. In the evening of that day, 500 guests - including representatives of the imperial court, the municipal
administration, public authorities and industry - gathered in the state rooms of the new building to celebrate the occasion. The Great Festive Hall (House of Industry) is one of the most pompous halls in Vienna. The beautiful two-story hall with galleries includes a big oil painting
of Emperor Franz Joseph and the coat of arms of the Austrian Industry.
Four historic staterooms and several spacious foyers in the upper and ground floors, as well as the courtyard and balcony make the palace a versatile event venue. With its stately ceiling fresco and a popular choice for concerts, conferences and gala dinners, the Landtagssaal - Parliament Hall - is the centrepiece of this magnificent event venue.
