Concert & Orchestra

"Tradition does not mean holding the ashes but passing on the flame."

Enjoy the music of Mozart, Strauss, Vivaldi, Beethoven and many more in a Viennese palace – just like in the early 19th century. The Vienna Residence Orchestra invites you into the world of classical music with well-known pieces by these composers, right in the middle of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Vienna impresses with its unique atmosphere, also thanks to the many well-preserved antique buildings and palaces. With the Vienna Residence Orchestra you can experience classical music live, accessible and in an authentic setting.

The Vienna Residence Orchestra, a chamber orchestra with a long tradition was founded by pianist and conductor Paul Moser and his wife Sylvia Moser to perform the works of Viennese classical music to the peak of perfection.

Venue

The Old Stock Exchange Palace (Palais Boerse) with its characteristic brick-red facade is one of the most memorable buildings in Vienna and is located on the famous Ringstrasse in the first district next to the Votivkirche and the university.

The Old Stock Exchange was built by the father of historicism, Theophil Freiherr von Hansen, between 1870 and 1877 in the typical Viennese style, also known as Neo-Renaissance. Hansen was a specialist in perfect acoustics, he also built the Vienna Musikverein and the Parliament. His concepts are still used in modern concert halls today.

The ballroom of the Old Stock Exchange impresses with its richly decorated stucco ceiling, a room height of 13 meters and outstanding acoustics. Anyone who has experienced a concert here will not forget it for a long time.
