The Vienna Mozart Orchestra in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein.
The best concert in Vienna is the one that suits your musical taste and the evening you have in mind. Do you enjoy familiar Mozart melodies and Strauss waltzes, the intimacy of a string quartet, or the drama of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons? Start with the music, then choose the setting: a grand concert hall, a historic church, a palace or a dinner show.
Many of Vienna’s most popular classical concerts welcome an international audience of visitors. A programme that appeals to tourists can still offer excellent musicianship, an engaging performance and very good value for money. Familiar pieces can be a wonderful introduction to classical music—and just as enjoyable for listeners who already know them well.
You do not have to be a classical music expert to appreciate the experience. Hearing the music live, watching the musicians and taking in the surroundings can become a highlight of your visit. Some visitor-friendly concerts even take place in world-class venues such as the Golden Hall of the Musikverein. If that particular hall is part of your wish list, check the venue details for your chosen date.
If your priority is hearing internationally renowned orchestras and performers, consider a concert by the Vienna Philharmonic or the Vienna Symphony Orchestra (Wiener Symphoniker), or an opera performance at the Vienna State Opera—all available to book through Viennaconcerts.com.
Think about what matters most to you: the repertoire, the size of the ensemble, the atmosphere or the opportunity to combine music with dinner. Vienna offers outstanding musical experiences across different settings, but each has its own character.
Compare the programmes, venues and ticket categories below, and consult the verified customer reviews on Viennaconcerts.com for additional insight into each experience.
Our suggestion for visitors who want Mozart, Strauss and the atmosphere of a grand concert hall.
The Vienna Mozart Orchestra performs with singers and soloists in historical costumes. Its programmes feature Mozart alongside Strauss favourites, making it an appealing option if you enjoy a varied evening of orchestral music and vocal performances.
For the Musikverein experience, select a performance explicitly listed at that venue. The orchestra also performs elsewhere in Vienna, so check the exact hall for your chosen date. If the Golden Hall is important to you, make sure it appears in the performance details.

Our suggestion for visitors who prefer chamber music in an intimate historic setting.
The Classic Exclusive concerts at St. Anne's Church, also called Annakirche, feature string-quartet performances. The repertoire includes works by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn and Schubert, with programmes subject to change.
This is a good option if you want to focus on a small ensemble and enjoy the surroundings of a Baroque church. Compare reviews for comments about the music and atmosphere, and check the programme rather than assuming every church concert offers the same repertoire.

Our suggestion for visitors who want Mozart and Strauss in a palace setting.
Schönbrunn Palace Concerts combine orchestral or ensemble performances with vocal music. The programme brings together Mozart selections and the waltzes, polkas and operetta music associated with Johann Strauss.
The usual setting is the Schönbrunn Orangery, although the event information identifies alternative rooms on selected dates. Check the venue and ticket category for your performance.
If you are considering a package, read its inclusions carefully: a concert ticket and an experience including dinner or a palace visit are different bookings.

Our suggestion for visitors who particularly want to hear Vivaldi in a Baroque church.
Karlskirche, known in English as St. Charles's Church, hosts performances of Vivaldi's Four Seasons on period instruments. It is a strong option when the music itself is the starting point for your choice.
Before booking, compare the seating categories and read the practical venue information. The church can be cold in winter and warm in summer, so dress for the conditions.
