Description

The Italian grand master Giacomo Puccini proved with his opera triptych in the year 1918 that he was also accomplished at writing smaller-scale works. This production presents the first and third parts of the triptych. „Il tabarro“ („The Cloak“) is a dark story about a love triangle unfolding at a Parisian dock, culminating in a thrilleresque and almost cinematic showdown. This is followed by
„Gianni Schicchi“, a nimble and caustic comedy about a forged will, inspired by a passage from Dante’s „Divina Commedia“.
