An ensemble is preparing for an opera premiere in a provincial theatre. The resolute mother of the seconda donna bursts into the company’s usual state of chaos and ends up treading the boards of the stage herself. The title role of Donizetti’s comedy about do’s and don’ts offers a famous part for a bass. The star tenor Rolando Villazon will give his directorial debut for this new Volksoper production.
